During our six-week rotation cycle, the following Premium Archetypes will be unlocked for one week only:

• The Tempest: 10-17 Nov. 2011

How to play Premium Archetypes for free:

The free Premium Archetype of the week will be clearly marked with the “Try It” icon in the Character Creator. To play the unlocked Archetype of the week, simply create a character and select the Premium Archetype with this icon.

The free Premium Archetype of the week will be unlocked and available to all players for a period of one week (Thursday to Thursday). To see the time remaining to try out the week’s Archetype, you can mouse over the character you created.

Once a new Premium Archetype is rotated in and available to play, you will be prompted to switch your character. Selecting the next free Premium Archetype of the week will retrain your character at no cost. Each week a new Premium Archetype will become available to play for free.

Archetype Rotation Program FAQ

Q: How do I play the free Premium Archetype that is currently in rotation?

A: It’s pretty easy. When you make a new character you can select the free Premium Archetype for the week that you want to play and just start playing! For existing characters, all you need to do is retrain your character and select the free Premium Archetype you want to play. Retraining into the Archetype currently in rotation is always free.

Q: What happens when the free Premium Archetype I’m playing is rotated out at the end of its week-long run?

A: Each week (Thursdays at 7:00 AM PST), a different Premium Archetype will rotate into the free category and be available to play for a week. When you go to play a character that was created using a free Premium Archetype and its promotional period is over, you will be prompted to retrain your character to the next free Premium Archetype in the line-up. Of course, you can choose to keep playing the Premium Archetype, but you will need to purchase it from the C-Store after the end of its promotional period during the Archetype Rotation Program. There is no cost to retrain to the next free Premium Archetype.

Q: Do I lose any of my character’s progress when I switch Archetypes?

A: Not at all! You get to keep everything your character earned and can pick right up where you left off, playing as the new Premium Archetype for that week. To make the transition even easier, once you retrain into the following week’s free Archetype, we give you three pieces of primary gear made especially for your Archetype, health boosts, damage boosts and a little something to get you back up and fighting.

Q: What happens at the end of the Archetype Rotation Program’s promotional period? Does my character get locked?

A: At the end of the Archetype Rotation promotional period, you can retrain - for free! - to any Archetype you own or otherwise have access to (such as the always free Base Archetypes).
